My Experience of English Study at Web

On 27 July 2006, it was a rainy day, but I was in a good mood and felt a little restless and uneasy, because I would be interviewed today by German Commercial Bank. I had the good experience and positive optimistic personality, so I had got a lot of faith in myself.

I just waited for a short time, the general manager and his secretary began to ask me questions.  I had a good performance except for my poor English. When they wanted me to introduce myself in English, my mind had gone blank. I forgot all my preparation before, and I bumbled through my introduction. The manager said:” It is a big problem on your English. But maybe because you had a little bit nervous, the introduction was not very good. I’d like to give you another chance. We will have a small talk with each other in English.”  Then he started to speak in English, but I couldn’t understand most of them. When he asked me a question, he really put me on the spot there. I had to say:” I am so sorry.” Finally, I didn’t get the job.

On my way home, I was totally desperate in my determination to improving my English. I found Web was an excellent English training school and decided to choose it to improve my English.

When I walked into Web, a class consultant met me in the evening, who is named Lucy. She introduced a lot of information about Web to me. I was very interested in learning English here, so I registered all class of Web. I hoped that I can really improve my English here, and I can speak fluent English.

I started my classes from T level. I had to arrange my classes on weekends because of my young baby. But it still only took me 3 months to finish my first level. When I was upgrade, I got more confidence. I was not afraid of speaking English out gradually.

One day, when it was my sixth month to be a student of Web. I got a chance to be interviewed by a company, the position was personal assistant of general manager, and the requirement was good English skill. I wasn’t afraid any more. I showed self-confidence and professional skills at the interview. After an English translation test, I got the job. Fortunately, my work place was in the same building as Web was. So it’s convenient for me to study English and work.

Now I have studied at Web for more than one year. I learned a lot of things from the school, especially in English area. The tutors and foreign teachers there are very kind and patient. I enjoy my English study at Web, and believe that I can speak good English in the short run.
