Idioms II – Body Part Idioms

 

I got some idioms on my last salon class, think they were interesting, so I’d like to share with you here.

 

§New Roman'">           Let’s keep an eye on it anyway. (Watch carefully)

§           I’m afraid I put my foot in it. (Said or did something stupid)

§           You’ve got to hand it to him! (Admire his achievement)

§           We need some kind of back-up plan. (Contingency)

§           They’re asking an arm and a leg. (An unreasonable price)

§           Let’s do a head count. (Check how many people)

§           I’m up to me nose in work. (Very busy)

§           Put your heart into it! (Put in more effort)

§           You’ve got to keep your nose clean. (Keep out of trouble)

§           Can I give you a hand? (Help)

§           You’d better keep your ear to the ground. (Stay alert for some news)

§           He got his hands dirty. (Become involved in something illegal)

§           I’d give my right arm for that job! (Do anything for)
