a controversial attitude towards life

These  days  I  am  reading  the  book << Jane  Eyre >>(简爱）。After a  few  chapters  , the  image of  Jane  Eyre has  given me  a  deep  impression  . She  was  afraid of  nothing  ,and  brave  to  violate all the consevative restrictions. At  the  same  time, she  could  distinguish  between the  evil  and  justice.So I  like  this  character  a  great  deel.  But  Helen  Bums,  a  good  friend of  Jane,who  had  done  a  large  favor on  her,  held  a contrary  belief  of  life .While  apparently  which  seemed  doing  nothing  to  her.Let's look  at  the  discrīptions of  Helen Bums  from  this  book.

After  being  punished  in  the  class, Bums  said:"it  is  far  better to  endure  patiently a  smart  which  nobody  feels  but  yourself,than  to  commit a  hasty  action  whose consquences  will  extend  to  all  concerned  with  you;and  besides,the  Bebil  bids  us  return  good  for  evil."(耐心忍受只有自己感到的痛苦，远比草率行动，产生连累亲朋的恶果要好，更何况《圣经》上嘱咐我们要以德报怨）then  Jane  retorted:"but  it  seems  disgraceful to be  flogged, and to  be sent  to  stand  in  the  middle  of  a  room full  of  peaple;and  you  are  such  a  great  girl;I  am  far  younger  than  you , i  could  not  bear  it.""yet  it  would  be  your  duty  to  bear  it .if  you  could  not  avoid  it ,it  is  weak  and  silly to  say  you  can't  bear  it  what  is  your  fate  to  be  required  to  bear  it ."(不过，要是无法避免，那你的职责就是忍受，如果你命里注定需要忍受，那么你说你自己不能忍受就是软弱，就是犯傻）

With  the same  amazement, I  can't  conprehend  her  belief  of endurence.It  is  certain  that  Bums  was less  impulsive  and  provoctive.with  which  she  could  deal  with  the  matters  calmly  and  properly.For  example, when Jane  Eyer  was  accused  by  Mr. Brocklehurst, she  acted  excessively  on  the basis  of  her  impulsive  emotion . Even  at  that  time  she  considered  death  an  only  way  to  relief.How  terrible it  was!According  to  Bums's opinion,  Jane  can't  comprehand  the  true  meaning  of  endurence. While  I  can  rarely  be  in  consistent  with  Bums, and i don't  think  endurence  is  a  good  way  to  cope  with  our  life .In  the  first  place , we never  fail  make  sure  what  is  right. If  the  people were  alwayse  kind  and obedient to those  who  are cruel and  unjust,the  wicked  people  would  have  it  all  their  ways,they  would  never  feel  afraid, and  would  grow  worse  and  worse. we  should  be  good  to  those  who  are  good  to  us.

As  Buns  said:"how  minutely  you  remember all  she  has  done and  said  to you!what  a  sigularly  deep  impression  her  injustice seems  to  have  made  in  your  heart!would  you not  be  happier  to try  to  forget  her severity?life  appears  to  me  too  short  to  be  nursing  animosity or  registering  wrongs(对我来说，生命似乎太短暂了，不应该来结仇和记恨）“It  hears  reasonable.But  it  seems  impossible to  forget all  the  pains,it  would  also  be  a  miserable  procedure that  should  not  be  undertaken  by  the  victim. It  is  unfair!
