i can't stand my poor english! i want to improve my situation ! i want to change my life. i don't want to let my parents down!  i don't ever want to let my country down! most importantly, i don't want to let myself down!

   i want to speak perfect english! i want to understand all kinds of accents! i want to write beautiful articles. i want to read thousands of books! i want to transtate freely be-tween chinese and english. i want to be the master of the world's two most inportant languages: chinese and english.

单身男人的生活，总给人印象邋遢与放纵。被子从来不叠，臭袜子到处丢，桌上有吃剩的方便面盒，角落里堆满了空酒瓶，地上到处是香烟屁股，在感情方面又显得很花心，这些，是我们在电视上常常看到的场景。

不知道那些编剧是不是体验过单身男人的生活，在我看来，事实完全相反。单身男人是最懂得生活的，哪会如此虐待自己。

单身男人的屋子很干净，不管是自己买的或者是租的。床上，总是平整地铺着被子，衣服一件件折起来叠在衣柜里，屋里的陈设都很整齐。他们会有一个书柜，上面摆满书，但不会像一些人，买书只是为了显示自己的身份，那些书，全都是他们看过的。

单身男人一般都很精通厨艺，没有父母在身边，没有女友照顾，只能靠自己来善待自己的胃。他们可以在外面简单解决自己的晚餐，但他们更喜欢下了班到超市买点新鲜的菜，回到家做上一顿可口的晚餐。可能只是一碗饭对着一碗菜，但菜荤素搭配，营养合理，而且肯定是精心制作的，不会马虎。偶尔，他们也会请几个朋友来家里小聚，露一手。

单身男人屋里可能会有一套工夫茶具或者咖啡壶，在周末的下午，或者夜深人静，为自己泡上一壶冻顶或者煮上一壶巴顿，再点上一支烟，听着幽雅的音乐，坐在客厅里静静地思考。

单身男人屋内总会有一副哑铃或者在阳台上吊一个沙袋，在家没事的时候练上一会儿。与已婚男人挺着肚腩明显不同的是，单身男人有一身健美的身材，跑去买衣服，就像模特一样，什么衣服往身上套，总显得合身，这是他们坚持锻炼的硕果。

单身男人对于感情，很沉着。他们可能会对一些漂亮的女孩表现出暧昧之举动，但决不会轻易去追求她们，让自己深陷进去。感情对于他们来说，变得不再是那么期待。他们当然不可能是一张白纸，也不会像某些单身女人一样，急着想把自己嫁出去，他们只会静静地在一旁，观察认识的女孩，看哪个真正适合自己，丰富的过去，让他们在追之前，就很理性地发现她们身上的缺点。

单身男人，就这样享受着生活，他们在这样的生活中，享受人生中最美好的时光，一去不会复返。

I do not know who wrote those words, but I have always liked them as a ³⁾reminder that the future can be anything we want to make it. We can take the mysterious, ⁴⁾hazy future and carve out of it anything that we can imagine, just as a ⁵⁾sculptor carves a statue from a shapeless stone.

We are all in the position of the farmer. If we plant a good seed, we reap a good harvest. If our seed is poor and full of ⁶⁾weeds, we reap a useless crop. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.

I want the future to be better than the past. I don’t want it ⁷⁾contaminated by the mistakes and errors with which history is filled. We should all be concerned about the future because that is where we will spend the remainder of our lives.

Singles think they are happy

Singles are happy to be single, believe they're more open to new experiences, and in better physical shape than couples, according to a survey conducted by Harris Interactive. Survey results were released in honor of National Singles Week, Sept. 16-22.

Asked to compare themselves to married couples (or couples living together) 88 percent of the singles surveyed said they were happier or just as happy as their "coupled" peers. Also, 51 percent of singles said they were more open to new experiences while 33 percent at least as open to them.

Also, according to the survey findings, 78 percent of singles believe they are more or equally physically fit than their "coupled" peers. In their careers, 81 percent of the singles believe they were about as successful or more successful than the couples they knew. Some 61 percent of the singles surveyed said they were more self indulgent than their "coupled" peers.

Finally, 71 percent of the singles surveyed said they felt more or at least as financially secure as the couples they knew.

"Singles, according to this study, perceive a lot of positives in their lives when they measure themselves against their married peers," says Caroline Presno, commenting on the survey findings, "

A Friend of mine, in response to a conversation we were having about the injustices of life, asked me the question,"who said life was going to be fair,or that it was even meant to be fair?"

  her question was a good one. it reminded me of somethig i was taught as a young-ster:life isn't fair. it's a bummer, but it's absolutely true.one of the mistakes many of us makes is that we feel sorry for ourselves, or for others, thinking that life should be fair,or that some day it will be. it's not and it won't.

As I was growing up I was forced to help my mom and dad as well as attend the community school. I had no time to play and I think this developed a strong spirit in me. my mom and dad still live in my hometown. Now that I am working in the city I will afford to support them and they will relax in the future.

    Tears goes out of my eyes when I talk to my parents on the phone. What are they doing when I call them, this is what I   want to know most. I had supper at 5 o’clock in the dining room. There is no need for me to cook by myself, no need to wash the dishes. However, now it is the busiest time for my parents. Dad has night shift every day, he works from seven o'clock  in the morning to nine o'clock in the evening. Therefore, all the housework is left to my mum, besides her own job, she also has to work the vineyard.

    Every day she gets up at 4 o’clock in the morning, then works till dark. One day I called her at 7:30 in the evening, she told me that she was still in the vineyard and hadn’t had supper yet. My tears ran down from my cheeks, I was filled with worry. I promise her to study hard in the university, because I am her hope. I promise her to take care of myself, because I am important to her. I promise her to lose weight because she says nice figure is an important factor in future’s competition. I promise her so much and I just want her to promise me that she can take care of herself and dad because they are just like the blood in my body.I cannot live without them.

  In my family, everyone is common. We are willing to earn our living by our own hands. We are very happy to have the meal together on the New Year’s Eve. My mother has ever said that everyone in the family is important, no one can be absent.

  Mum has ever said that the happiest time for Dad and her is when my sister and I come back home.

  We play cards in the room,watch TV,do anything we like,with dad and mum preparing delicious food in the kitchen.It is also the happiest time for me.

  At that moment,I could forget all the difficulties and unhappiness.The only thing I would like to do is to enjoy the time with my parents.

What would you do if you failed? Many people may choose to give up. However, the surest way to success is to keep your direction and stick to your goal.

Please don't care how poorly or how well you speak, only care about catching the chances to speak!  Enjoy losing face. just forget about your face. the more you speak,the better your english will become. the more mis-takes you make,the more progress you will make,you must enjoy speaking poor english, because speaking is the only thing that will bead you towards sucess. don't give up ,just try your best.

    every time you move your mouth, your memory will deepen, your muscles will strengthen. you can make it.
