A Wizard’s Theme Park 魔法世界的主题公园

Would you like to take a holiday at Hogwarts? While fans of the fictional adventures of an English boy wizard are counting the days until the publication of the seventh and final Harry Potter book, a theme park inspired by Harry's adventures is to open in the United States. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park will open in Florida in 2009, and will feature attractions and rides based on locations from the Harry Potter books. The novels' author JK Rowling has already given her blessing to the project. She said, "The plans I’ve seen look incredibly exciting, and I don’t think fans of the books or films will be disappointed." Stuart Craig, the man in charge of the creative design of the park, is an Oscar-winning production designer who worked on the Harry Potter films so it should be faithful to JK Rowling’s vision. Stuart Craig said, "Our primary goal is to make sure this experience is an authentic extension of Harry Potter's world as it is portrayed in the books and films." Visitors to the park will be able to explore some of their favourite locations from the book such as the village of Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest and, of course, Hogwarts Castle, where Harry goes to school. Although fans can look forward to a holiday in the Harry Potter theme park, many will be saddened by the fact that the best-selling series is now drawing to a close. The final instalment in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will be published on 21 July, and to mark the event JK Rowling is to read extracts from the book to a select audience at midnight on the day of publication. Rowling has announced that two characters die in the final book, but has not revealed if Harry is one of them so fans will have to wait to find out the fate of their magical hero.

Today is father's day, I hope the happiness and healthy full of his life!

When the good Lord was creating fathers, He started with a tall frame. And a female angel nearby said, "What kind of father is that? If you're going to make children so close to the ground, why have you put fathers up so high? He won't be able to shoot marbles without kneeling, tuck a child in bed without bending, or even kiss a child without a lot of stooping."

And God smiled and said, "Yes, but if I make him child size, who would children have to look up to?"

And when God made a father' hands, they were large and sinewy.

And the angel shook her head sadly and said, "Do You know what You're doing? Large hands are clumsy. They can't manage diaper pins, small buttons, rubber bands on pony tails or even remove splinters caused by baseball bats."

God smiled and said, "I know, but they're large enough to hold everything a small boy empties from his pockets at the end of a day, and get small enough to cup a child's face."

Then God molded long, slim legs and broad shoulders.

The angel nearly had a heart attack. "Boy, this is the end of the week, all right," she clucked. "Do You realize You just made a father without a lap? How is he going to pull a child close to him without the kid falling between his legs?"

God smiled and said, "A mother needs a lap. A father needs strong shoulders to pull a sled, balance a boy on a bicycle or hold a sleepy head on the way home from the circus."

God was in the middle of creating two of the largest feet anyone had ever seen when the angel could contain herself no longer. "That' not fair. Do You honestly think those large boats are going to dig out of bed early in the morning when the baby cries? Or walk through a small birthday party without crushing at least three of the guests?"

And God smiled and said, "They'll work. You'll see. They'll support a small child who wants to "ride a horse to Banbury Cross" or scare off mice at the summer cabin, or display shoes that will be a challenge to fill."

God worked throughout the night, giving the father few words, but a firm authoritative voice; eyes that see everything, but remain calm and tolerant.

Finally, almost as an afterthought, He added tears. Then He turned to the angel and said, "Now are you satisfied that he can love as much as a mother?"

And the angel shutteth up!

Freda Bright says, "Only in opera do people die of love." It's true. You really can't love somebody to death. I've known people to die from no love, but I've never known anyone to be loved to death. We just can't love one another enough.

A heart-warming story tells of a woman who finally decided to ask her boss for a raise in salary. All day she felt nervous and apprehensive. Late in the afternoon she summoned the courage to approach her employer. To her delight, the boss agreed to a raise.

The woman arrived home that evening to a beautiful table set with their best dishes. Candles were softly glowing. Her husband had come home early and prepared a festive meal. She wondered if someone from the office had tipped him off, or... did he just somehow know that she would not get turned down?

She found him in the kitchen and told him the good news. They embraced and kissed, then sat down to the wonderful meal. Next to her plate the woman found a beautifully lettered note. It read, "Congratulations, darling! I knew you'd get the raise! These things will tell you how much I love you."

Following the supper, her husband went into the kitchen to clean up. She noticed that a second card had fallen from his pocket. Picking it off the floor, she read, "Don't worry about not getting the raise! You deserve it anyway! These things will tell you how much I love you."

Someone has said that the measure of love is when you love without measure. What this man feels for his spouse is total acceptance and love, whether she succeeds or fails. His love celebrates her victories and soothes her wounds. He stands with her, no matter what life throws in their direction.

Upon receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, Mother Teresa said, "What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family." And love your friends. Love them without measure.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; tall men and short character; steep profits and shallow relationships. More leisure and less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition; two incomes, but more divorce; fancier houses, but broken homes.

Adults who have a sense of humor outlive those who don't find life funny, and the survival edge is particularly large for people with cancer, says Sven Svebak of the medical school at Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

He released his study of about 54,000 Norwegians, tracked for seven years, at the American Psychosomatic Society meeting.

At the start, patients filled out questionnaires on how easily they found humor in real-life situations and how important a humorous perspective was.

The greater a role humor played in their lives, the greater their chances of surviving the seven years, Svebak says. Adults who scored in the top one-quarter for humor appreciation were 35% more likely to be alive than those in the bottom quarter, he says.

In a subgroup of 2,015 who had a cancer diagnosis at the start, a great sense of humor cut someone's chances of death by about 70% compared with adults with a poor sense of humor, Svebak says.

Jordin Sparks, a teenager with a big voice and big dreams, was crowned Wednesday as the newest and youngest "American Idol."

Sparks, 17, of Glendale, Ariz., prevailed over beatboxer Blake Lewis, 25, of Bothell, Wash., after a triumphant performance Tuesday that wowed the show's judges and the viewers who gave her the majority of the record 74 million votes cast.

The contest came down to either the stronger singer, Sparks, or the better entertainer, Lewis. Sparks delivered her songs simply and powerfully; Lewis' flourishes included his sound-effects beatboxing and sharp dance moves.

"You were the best singer tonight. You deserve it all, baby!" judge Jackson told Sparks.

"You just wiped the floor with Blake," added judge Cowell, who then told Sparks he was wrong for initially thinking she wasn't good enough to win the Fox talent show.

"I would say the best individual performance of the night was Blake on the first song," Cowell said. "But, based on overall singing - Jordin."

"I'm pleased for the two of them," judge Cowell said of Sparks and Lewis. "They're nice kids. But I would have liked to have seen one of them up against the big singer."

I live in Hollywood. You may think people in such a glamorous, fun-filled place are happier than others. If so, you have some mistaken ideas about the nature of happiness.
　　我住在好莱坞。你可能认为住在这样一个魅力四射、充满欢笑的地方要比其他人更幸福。倘若如此，你就误解了幸福的本质。

Many intelligent people still equate① happiness with fun. The truth is that fun and happiness have  little or nothing in common. Fun is what we experience during an act. Happiness is what we experience after an act. It is a deeper, more abiding② emotion.
　　许多聪明人依旧将幸福与娱乐等同起来。事实上，娱乐与幸福很少、甚至毫无共同之处。娱乐是某个活动进行中的体验，而幸福则是活动之后的体验。幸福是更深刻、更持久的情感。

Going to an amusement park or ball game, watching a movie or television, are fun activities that help us relax, temporarily forget our problems and maybe even laugh. But they do not bring happiness, because their positive effects end when the fun ends.

I have often thought that if Hollywood stars have a role to play, it is to teach us that happiness has nothing to do with fun. These rich, beautiful individuals have constant access to glamorous③ parties, fancy cars, expensive homes, everything that spells "happiness".
　　我常常这样想，如果好莱坞明星起到某种作用的话，那就是向我们昭示幸福与娱乐毫无关系。作为个人，他们富有，楚楚动人，可以随时出席令人神往的宴会，拥有顶尖级汽车、昂贵的宅第--这一切似乎意味着“幸福”。

But in memoir after memoir, celebrities reveal the unhappiness hidden beneath all their fun: depression, alcoholism, drug addiction, broken marriages, troubled children, profound loneliness.
　　然而，在一部又一部的回忆录中，名流们揭示了隐藏在这一切娱乐活动背后的不幸：忧郁、酗酒、吸毒成瘾、失败的婚姻、饱受困扰的孩子、极度的孤独。

The way people cling④ to the belief that a fun-filled, pain-free life equates happiness actually diminishes⑤ their chances of ever attaining real happiness. If fun and pleasure are equated with happiness, then pain must be equated with unhappiness. But, in fact, the opposite is true: More times than not, things that lead to happiness involve some pain.
　　人们执迷不悟，以为充满欢笑、没有痛苦的生活就等于幸福；这实际上减少了他们真正臻于幸福之境的可能性。如果娱乐和快乐等同于幸福的话，那么痛苦必然等同于不幸福。可事实正相反：导致幸福的一切常常蕴含着些许痛苦。

As a result, many people avoid the very endeavors⑥ that are the source of true happiness. They fear the pain inevitably⑦ brought by such things as marriage, raising children, professional achievement, religious commitment, civic⑧or charitable work, and self-improvement.
　　因此，许多人不愿努力，而这些努力恰恰正是真正幸福的源泉。诸如婚姻、抚育子女、职业成就、宗教信仰、公共及慈善事业、自身修养等必然带来痛苦，他们因而对于这一切心怀畏惧。

事实上这篇文章就两个中心意思：

1. Happiness has nothing to do with fun.

2. Things that lead to happiness involve some pain.

                                                Romeo and Juliet

The story takes place in Verona, Italy. Two noble families, the Montagues and Capulets, hate each other and are feuding. The prince of the city tells the two families that they must stop fighting or he will execute them!

A nobleman, Paris, wants to marry Juliet Capulet, the beautiful daughter of the family. Her father tells him to come to a party he is planning that night so he can meet her. Romeo, the son of the Montague family, also goes to the party. He is in disguise so none of his enemies will recognize him. At the party, he meets Juliet. It is love at first sight, and they spend the night dancing and talking.

The two young lovers decide to marry in secret, which they do the very next day.

However, there is a fight between one of the Montagues, Tybalt, and Romeo’s best friend, Mercutio. Tybalt kills Mercutio. Romeo is very angry. He goes looking for Tybalt and kills him to get revenge for his friend.

Romeo has to leave the city, and Juliet’s father tells her she must marry Paris. Juliet asks a friend to help her. He gives her a potion that will make everyone think she is dead. In fact, she will just be sleeping. Then, when she wakes up, she can escape and be with Romeo.

However, Romeo returns to the city in secret. He sees Juliet lying there and thinks she is dead. He is so heartbroken, he takes poison and kills himself. When Juliet wakes up she sees Romeo is dead, and takes his dagger and kills herself too.

Although both lovers are dead, something good comes out of the tragedy. The two families agree to stop fighting and live in peace. Unfortunately it is too late for Romeo and his young love, Juliet.

今天是五一劳动节,但对我最重要的是它也是我爸妈的结婚纪念日~~他们一直很恩爱,感谢他们让我明白什么才是"爱"! 所以,本期主题----- "爱情"

A girl and a boy were on a motorcycle, speeding through the night.
They loved each other a lot..

Girl: Slow down a little. I'm scared...
Boy: No, it's so fun...
Girl: Please... it's so scary...
Boy: Then say that you love me...

Girl: Fine... I love you... Can you slow down now?
Boy: Give me a big hug...
The girl gave him a big hug. Girl: Now can you slow down?
Girl: Now can you slow down?
Boy: Can you take off my helmet and put it on? It's uncomfortable and it's bothering me while I drive.

Then next day, there was a story in the newspaper: a motorcycle had crashed into a building because it sbrakes were broken.
There were two people on the motorcycle, of which one died, and the other had survived

The guy knew that the brakes were broken. He didn't want to let the girl know, because he knew that the girl would have gotten scared.

Instead, he was told the last time that she loved him, got a hug from her, put his helmet on her so that she can live, and die himself...

Once in a while, right in the middle of anordinary life, love gives us a fairytale...

一天夜里，男孩骑摩托车带着女孩超速行驶

他们彼此深爱着对方

女孩：“慢一点...我怕...”

男孩：“不，这样很有趣...”

女孩：“求求你...这样太吓人了...”

男孩：“好吧，那你说你爱我...”

女孩：“好....我爱你...你现在可以慢下来了吗？”

女孩紧紧拥抱了他一下

女孩：“现在你可以慢下来了吧？”

男孩：“你可以脱下我的头盔并自己戴上吗？它让我感到不舒服，还干扰我驾车。”

第二天，报纸报道：一辆摩托车因为刹车失灵而撞毁在一幢建筑物上。

车上有两个人，一个死亡，一个幸存...

驾车的男孩知道刹车失灵，但他没有让女孩知道，因为那样会让女孩感到害怕。

相反，他让女孩最后一次说她爱他，最后一次拥抱他，并让她戴上自己的头盔，结果，女孩活着，他自己死了...

就在一会儿的时间里，就在平常的生活里，爱向我们展示了一个神话。

We always convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, than another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more contet when they are. After that we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. we will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.

We always tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together. when we get a nice a car, and are able to go on a nice vocation. when we retire. the truth is, there's no better time than right now. if not now, when? our life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to ourselves and decide to be happy anyway.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Alfred Souza. He said."for a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin-real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, someting to be gotten through firest, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life." This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So treasure every moment that you have. And remember that time waits for no one. So stop wailting until you finish school, until you go back to school; until you get married, until you get divorced; until you have kids; until you retire; until you get a new car or home; until spring; until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy….

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.so, work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, And dance like no one's watching. 

What would you do if you failed? Many people may choose to give up. However, the surest way to success is to keep your direction and stick to your goal.

On your way to success, you must keep your direction. It is just like a lamp, guiding you in darkness and helping you overcome obstacles on your way. Otherwise, you will easily get lost or hesitate to go ahead.

Direction means objectives. You can get nowhere without an objective in life.

You can try to write your objective on paper and make some plans to achieve it. In this way, you will know how to arrange your time and to spend your time properly. And you should also have a belief that you are sure to succeed as long as you keep your direction all the time.

  since our first Business English professor--Jennifer,who had went back her country~~all of us are very missing her~~and now we had receiving a new professor who is came from Chicago, he is a really good teacher I think~~~I'm very like his sense of humor~~ almost every classes,we take time in the games~~~and i found the most characteristic of him is pay regard to efficiency.~~Remember it:"Never spend time doing nothing! Never hang out!" 

   After tomorrow,I'll have the midsemesters~~so I should have prepared it as best as i can~~
