• Cocoa Linked to Lower Risk of Disease

  The Dutch have a long history with chocolate. Although native Mexicans and their Spanish conquerors first used the bitter bean--and reported on its tonic powers--a Dutchman was the first to extract modern cocoa and neutralize its bitterness with alkali. The modern chocolate bar was born.

  Now, results from a study of aging Dutch men have shown that cocoa consumers were half as likely to die from disease than those who did not eat the sweet treat.

  Brian Buijsse of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment in Bilthoven and his colleagues measured the cocoa intake of 470 men between 1985 and 2000 as part of the Zutphen Elderly Study, a longitudinal look at nearly 1,000 Dutch men between 65 and 84 years of age.

  The nutrition experts identified 24 cocoa-containing foods that the elderly men ate, ranging from dark chocolate bars to chocolate spreads. They summed the total amount of cocoa each consumed and came up with a grams-per-day measurement, which they used to separate the men into three groups: those

  Today some classmates go home 。Only a few people in the

  dormitory .I want to go home too ,but my hometown is far

  from my school.I miss my father ,my mother ,my sister and

  black --the dog in myfamily.I havn't seen them for two

   months.I don't know how to spend the next few days .I am

  lonely!!!!

  Finally playoffs are here! After 82 games, the playoffs have arrived.We are scheduled to play the Utah Jazz in a best-of-seven series that begins in Houston on Saturday night. It will be a very difficult series to win because Utah is a very good team. They beat us three times during the regular season. They are a big, strong, physical team led by Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur. They have a great young point guard in Deron Williams. They have active wings in Andrei Kirilenko, Matt Harpring, and Gordon Giricek.  It will be fun for me to play against my old college teammate Carlos Boozer.  We won a national championship at Duke together in 2001. While it will be smiles and hugs before the game, as soon as the ball is tipped, we will both focus on the game and try to out-compete each other. That is one of the most fun parts of our job, we get to compete and try to beat our friends! As soon as the game is over, Carlos and I can be friendly again, but not when we are playing. The key to winning this series will be rebounding. We have rebounded well in the regular season, we have played very well. When we have struggled to rebound, we usually lose the game. It is as simple as that statistic for our team. Wish us good luck for the series, we need all the help and support we can get.   >yesterday that I was the nervous guy getting ready for a new team and a new training camp in October. The year really went fast! There is no question that when you win and are having fun the season goes by much quicker. I have been on teams in Memphis that were not very good for the first couple of years and time seemed to go by so slowly. It also makes a difference if you have good teammates and enjoy the journey.

  >>A team is often like a family. There are times when everyone gets along and is happy (when you win games) and times when you don't always agree (mostly when you lose a few games in a row), but for most of the time, we have a good time.  In Seattle, Billy Spanoulis, Steve Novak, Big Jake Tsakalidis, and myself went to eat sushi after our game. We had a great time and we barely even talked about basketball. (By the way, I have never seen anybody eat as much sushi as Big Jake, I can't believe how much he put down!).

   

   It is nights like those that make you realize that life is just not about your personal goals and performance. I believe that life is more about sharing and enjoying the journey of life with others that you respect and like to be around. You might have all the success in the world, but if you have no one to share it with, then the success you experience will not taste as sweet.

  哇！我真不敢相信时间竟然过得这么快。好像昨天还很十月份时紧张地在一支新球队里参加训练营似的。这一年过得可真快。毫无疑问，因为这一年我收获了很多胜利和喜悦，才会过得这么快。我在孟菲斯呆的那段时间里，球队有些艰难，而那时候时间过得就很慢。当然，跟队友相处融洽会使客场旅程更加愉快，这也是跟以前的不同之处。

   

  一支球队就像是一个大家庭。我们有大家一起高高兴兴的时候（就是每当我们又赢了比赛的时候），也会有不太开心的时候（大部分时候是因为输掉了比赛），不过大部分时间我们还是很愉快的。在西雅图的时候，比利-斯潘诺里斯、史蒂夫-诺瓦克、大J还有我在比赛之后去吃寿司。我们在一起很开心，而且几乎很少谈到篮球。（顺便提一句，我从来没见过像大J那样能吃寿司的人，我都不敢相信他吃了多少！）

   

  这样美好的夜晚让会让你懂得，生活不仅仅是个人奋斗的历程，还包括与你尊敬并喜爱的人相互分享、一起体验生命旅程的经历。你可能会很成功，但是如果你不懂得与别人分享这一切，这些成功也不会给你带来任何甜蜜的感觉。

   

  如果你正在经历一段困难时期，你的生活中正遭遇种种问题的时候，与那些可以帮助你的人交流，你会感到很舒服很多。他们会帮助你向前看，去看那些给人希望的瞬间。我很幸运在火箭队中能遇到这么多可以与我分享快乐的人。
