How to make a call when apply for a job

    Applying for a job requires that you "sell" yourself to an employer as the best person for that job. Your first contact with the prosepective employer is very important. A job advertisement might invite you to phone directly. Then phone as soon as possible. Here are a few ideas to make this a bit easier.

    Preparing for the call
1.  Work out what you want to say. Prepare a list of questions about the job. These may include aspects of the job that were not covered in the advertisement, such as the duties, age requirements, experience sought, aualifications, salary, location and how to apply.
    想好你想说什么。列出你想问的关于这份工作的问题，包括广告中没有提到的关于该工作的具体事项，如责任范围，年龄要求，所需经验，资历，薪水，工作地点及如何申请。

2.  Have your resume ready and be prepared to take notes.

3.  Note the title and name of the person you have to ask for.

    Making the call
    When you call, keep it brief. Make sure you sound interestied in the job, ask for the information you want and answer any questions they may ask. Speak clearly and directly into the mouthpiece. Speak with a " smile " and be friendly and confident. Make a note of the time, place and person you will report to for the interview. End the call by thanking the person for taking the time to speak with you.
