Don't Lose Your Heart

      There're times, for all of us, when the sunshine of life seems to disappear. On such occasions -- and let's hope they will be rare -- I like to remind myself of these wise words by an unknown author:

    Count your blessing instead of your crosses;

    Count your gains instead of your losses;

    Count your friends instead of your foes;

    Count your smiles instead of your tears;

    Count your courage instead of your fears;

    Count your full years instead of your lean;

    Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.

    Now, isn't there a great feeling of optimism and good cheer in thought such as these?

    Although we travel the wide world to find the beautiful, it is essential that we carry it with us or we find it not.
