                                          Next stop  after graduation

                                                                                       -by kalon

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. It's my great pleasure to take this advantage to share with u my views about the career planning.

With china's ever-expanding enrollment in higher education, most graduates are faced with a tight job market.what worse is that the number of graduates is far exceeding the market demand.and today's college students are losing their shine in social positions.there were 2.12million graduates in 2003,compared with 2.8million a year later,3.38million in 2005 and 4.13 million in 2006.meanwhile,the unemployment rate has been rising steadily. From these numbers you could easily see that the number of graduates'unemployment is indeed growing year by year.this year, the number of job-hunting graduates is a staggering 5million.

Under this cruel circumstance, graduates are forced to take up jobs as butchers,shoe-polishers,nursemaids,etc.some fresh graduates even work in unpaid internships or raise pigs as their job.Nowadays graduates are prepared to take any job to ease their financial pressure first.

In 2009 we're going to graduate from here. So,what's your planAre u ready ,are u feeling good or confident about ur future?what's ur next stop after graduation?

These questions aren't easy to answer, different people have different ideas as well as different future.Actually,it is still not so clear to me about what is exactly the next stop for me after leaving this school. No matter whatever it is,let's get some preparations beforehand.

To begin with,we should try to know ourselves very well, here i mean te scales of your knowledge, skills, personality, hobbies and health. Before finding jobs,u must have an entire acquaintance of yourself, you need to know what kinds of jobs suit u.In fact there are some students with high aspiration but low abilities, they don't have any working experience and they failed in the job-hunting.If u know that u are incapable of doing the job, just give it up,don't waste ur time.

Secondly,u must know the occupations and business that u are interested in."Do what u like, and the money will follow'!Think about what u want to do and find out more information about it.sometimes u can also consult ur friends or relatives who have the experience.and then u can learn from their failure lessons, this willprevent u from making the same mistakes and u can gain their successful experience.

as far as i know there are still some other intangible barriers exit in graduates'job-hunting,such as the social relations, regional restrictions, permanent residency and university's reputation, etc.especially some students from the rural areas usually find thenselves in relatively inferior positions.some graduates confessed that in order to get a job, they have to sign up some kind of "unfair treaties' and promise not to take the postgraduate exam or not to leave the company within several years, otherwise they'll neet to pay 5.000 Yuan for breaching the contract.and some employees even openly declared that they only need students from  key universities,so graduates from not so famous college are not even entittled to apply.

Currently,it's much more difficulty for us to get employed in a company than to get enrolled in a university.there's a common phenomenon"graduates means jobless, jobless cause chaos'.

Nevertheless,u don't have to worry so much.As the 2008 olympic Games is going to be held in Beijing,we're so luchy to be graduates from 2009.This game is not simply a game,it means a lot to us(time is limit, this essay haven't finished yet, tomorrow i'll continue writing on...)

  • should i go home now?

    2007-07-12 12:20:22

last night and last last night,my father,my mom,my brother called me.they asked if i had found part-job,if not,i should first go home and then decide...i am so eager to go home but,i think i couldn't give up and escape.i am so unlucky ,i was cheatedby several 'so-called' good companies and i gave my money to them with no return.maybe it was really ridiculous to do so.however,it happened : i still find no job, lost my money,as well as my passion, energy.i was so exhausted, disappointed ,while i was so young to stand up with these stuffy things in this complex society,i was scared to some extent.Might it be the right time for me to escape and return home to calm myself for a while?i need some advice from everyone of you ...

  • How time flies

    2007-07-08 11:34:38

This semester has just passed away with the final exam. it is natural that students will all go back home and have a rest off study, however, for me it is quite the opposite-- next year i'll graduate from my school and follow the senior students' steps trying  all the way find a job ,then go to work.that's where the problem begins.i am freedom-preferential girl, working is not my place. that's why now-i mean this summer holiday,i made a plunge of stayig in Shanghai and to find a part-time job.it still not easy to do so because there are not so many jobs provided for those who desire to work as a part-time.even if there are, they will not offer it to you since you are so "young",so naive,so inexperienced etc.what should i do at this moment? just waiting for the outcome of the interview and hope it won't despair you.OH!God,please do me a favor, give me your blessing.

  • "what should i do now?"

    2007-05-24 07:22:55

They first met in the school library.he is a very smart,  active and handsome boy while she is a litte bit shy .on that day mary and them--all together four people, they went to go surfing and kept on talking kappily.from then on,she felt something special for him especially when he looks at her.in fact she could not be able to make it clear wether he likes her or not,one thing she could know is that he did has a goog impression on her.on the contrary, she has fallen in love with him in no way.she always tries every way to make opportunity to see him or to seemingly come across him on the street,it sounds stupid or funny maybe.however,to her, every night she cannot fall asleep, every second she cannot stop thinking of him...that's why she now lose weight quickly ?she don't want to eat anything.

she was so eager to know how he feels about her,she dare not to ask.when she told her close friend Mary her love for him and asked if she should confess her feelings to him ,Mary told her he has a girlfriend...she was totally heart-broken.but Mary also said that he seldom stay with his girlfriend because they are actually going to breake up.

Now she was puzzled:wait him to love her some day or tell him her true feeling frankly now,or say nothing and give up.

  • Dream of the Red Chamber

    2007-05-18 12:12:00

Today from the newspaper reporting,I learnt that the main actress Chen Xiaoyu had died .--Maybe it's the true death of Daiyu in Red Chamber with XiaoYu's dying. Most of my classmates, they felt sorry for this,so do i.In fact i like reading the famous novel very much and also love watching her performance of its TV series. Now she left us once and for all,we couldn't change this cruel thing. However,i still think she will always live within our heart for her unique beauty of the spirit that no one could ever replace.

  • Is it a kind of language imperialism?

    2007-05-10 19:28:46

Nowadays more and more people are trying all their ways to learn english. There may be some in_depth causes ,or personal reasons or just a kind of follow_up.So,what's your opinion?

No matter what your purposes are,it is a true fact that learning english has become chinese drive which now worries us so much that one day we chinese people will lose our own language and culture. Some think it's a kind of culture imperialism.Do u think so?

In my opinon, i have to confess to some extent that during the course of learning english(i am majoring in english) ,i do have been affected or assimilated in some way.Such as i become more open and more active. However, sometimes i even prefer foreign lifestyles and their unique characteristics.Am i wrong by tending to be westerners_like?

Will english become the domiantion langusge in china? Please do tell me yor suggestions concerning this.I really appreciatethat!

  • Holiday Aftermath

    2007-05-10 16:30:12

May Day has just slipped away, and we have no choice except for going back to study. It is sunshine Today,we have four classes; The english literature course and the intensive reading course. Both of them are so important that we can ignore neither of them. However, during the class most of us were absent-minded,some were sleepy, some were chatting secretively, and I was no exception since almost all my energies had been exhausted in this golden holiday...It was fantastic for us to have a seven-day long holiday but there still exsts some potential problems.
