classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child's success in school.
---------
You didn't do this one quite right...
First, you should clearly tell the examiner that PEER pressure is a more important factor than the influence of the parents in terms of a child's sucess in school..
your first arguement point is "no issue is more important than the one refers to academic performance. "
Oh, you need to remember who is marking your work...a western teacher will think what you just said is very narrow...
Because in our school, academic achievement is not more important than a overal development of a child....in NZ, if you get 5A, but no one likes you in Class...you are noboday!!!
You should explain why classmates/friends can affect a child more than his parents..
Firstly, children normally more accept friends' suggestions than their parents.(this is an issue of peer pressure..)
Secondly, children prefer tostay with friends more often than thier parents...
However, there are exceptions. Many children are following and have followed their parents' footprints. For example, it is often seen that a doctor's son will become a doctor in future. In this case, the son definitely has been more influenced by his parent.
To conclude, bla bla bla...
