The people self-pulishing these blogs are an eclectic mix, from trendy teenagers discussing their body piercings to celebrities sharing their everyday lives and activists staking out political positions.
Bolgs do two things that Web magazines simply cannot. First off, bolgs are personal. Almost all of them are imbued with the temper of their writer, which interests readers who increasingly doubt the authoritty of the opinionated magaines and newspapers, despite their grand-sounding titles and large staffs.
