She named herself Winnie, after the famous bear "winnie the pooh" in Walt Disney cartoon. Everybody calls her winnie in the company she had started working for before graduation.

She fell in love head over heel with a guy who's told to be dangerous....She just never listened. But she can't believe he was two-timing her... when she made up her mind to marry him... Desperately, almost dead... she just wanna go home, where her mom is.. where she hurt many people.

Time is the best cure. But how long does it take to recover, to come back to life again? How long does it take to get over him, to be yourself again?

At this noon after lunch I found a crowd outside the dining hall, oh there were books on sale, some of them even 80% off.

It's been a long time I didn't buy a book except for the essential text books, because we have a very big library open to us, ok, this is a good reason, but for another, to make me seem more cultured I picked 2 books out of them, and paid.

They are Anderson's Fairy Tales and Grimm's Fairy Tales, respectively cost me 2 Yuan and 2.5 Yuan, haha, that's really worth the money, since they are very delicated and brand-new, around 230 to 300 pages.

Reading them makes me feel like a child, in the classes of a primary school ( I didn't attend kindergarten) when teachers were telling stories. Children were listening intensively, eyes open wide as the story goes to the highlight. For once, I was sucking my forefinger, as usual in the class... and was warned by Miss that this is being rude, and dirty. However I didn't listen to her. 

The next day, I acted the same. Miss got mad and pulled me out of my seat, had me standing there in the front of the classroom... Actually I didn't feel ashamed or anything being treated this way, it's just I quit when I quit..  I am not blaming her, cuz I know she was doing this for my won good. I am forgetful sometimes, but have good memory for my childhood.

Don't know where my Miss is now, and how she is doing.. kinda miss her.

Saturday !!

Every week has a Saturday, but what makes it different is I am here today, haha

I've been busy preparing for job hunting lately, collect info, apply online, and email myself out. On the other hand, dealing with back-to-back classes Monday through Friday. The hectic months just begun.

We finally found how important a good plan is for us from the very begining. Sure the earlier the better. We were told to set your goal and make your plan the first day we came here, but we didn't take it serious. I minored the course of career planning 2 years ago, but didn't put a plan into practice to the fulliest.

If you are a freshman, a sophomore or above, please make your resume, and think about what kind of person u wanna become in 2 years, 5 years, what content u are gonna fill in the gaps.

Career planning is never too late, even a seasoned employee is on his way of career planning. Where to begin with, how much you know about a specific industry, determine your next step to take.

I guess 9 person out of 10 may feel revolted on hearing or seeing anything about this guy after the racy photo scandal earlier this year. I once asked girls “ how do u think about him?” The answers were kind of the same, “sick !”

Not sure if they ware all their inner thoughts. Are they saying that to keep them reckoned as good girls. But actually whether you like him or not, OK with this scandal or not, has nothing to do with good or bad girls.

Raise in the US, Edison impressed me very much by his real English in a public occasion accounting for himself days after the scandal arose. I like his voice, his accent, and his sincere confession. The press was held months ago, so sorry to bring old things up, but I am just saying, we can learn sth from his English. A teacher from New Oriental released an essay analyzing E’s letter of apology, as a lesson to her students.

Back to Edison, are you ready to forgive him?

I am.

He promised to step away from the HK entertainment industry and delicate his time to charity in the next few months. He kept his words, and left for US where his home is for a new life. No one knows how things are going with him.

Have we tried to take things from E’s perspective? He is also a victim.

Everybody as a human being has his right to keep one’s privacy, all those pictures racy or not, only belongs to Edison himself. He’s never intended to show anyone.

When this is happening, I see the society as a whole is telling lies. Men despise him out of jealousy of his good look and being ladies’ man. Women despise him saying he’s a jerk. But you know girls tend to prefer bad boys nowadays. Just 2 months after E’s event, on the internet were circulating another set of racy pics of 2 middle school students having sex. Our social morality norm has been reversed or distorted to some extent. Honestly, he is just part of this fucked up world.

A saying goes, a woman wants a man to satisfy her every need, but a man wants every woman to satisfy his one need. In this regard, men and women are psychologically different.  A man, especially someone handsome and charming like him, takes every chance to hook up a woman. The worst mistake he made is he pictured all the scenes that have a potential possibility to be disclosed some day, and reserved them in a computer without top security protection.

The pathetic part of being a celebrity is he has to watch his behavīor all the time. Every second, every word he says or gesture he makes may catch the eyes. And he knows it or not, he is becoming a role model, especially to the younger generation who has no good judgment on what’s right and wrong. But the truth is, he is just a kid.

He is hurt, he knows everything has a price, he used it and he have to pay it, sooner or later.

Hey, he raps awesome, I do like him as a rapper.

There are moments when I look at your contacts I am out of words, not knowing where to begin with, and I have lost the ablility to make up a story to start a conversation. Things turned out the way you've been expecting? That's what u want? I doubt, I doubt myself, I doubt love, I doubt the meaning of life.

Everybody that walks into your life might influence you in a profound way, you change consciously or unconsciously, not till the day he is gone, you came to realize the changes. You wish you never met him.

The long expected graduation trip finally came, us graduates extremely excited for the past few days. The reasons are,

1st,  people say Guilin has the best landscape in the world.

2nd, It's a 3- day trip 600 kilometers away, 5 meals and 2 nights' accomodation included. And what makes it more exciting is  this trip basically costs 350 Yuan, that's 50 USD or so.

3rd, the whole class is going.

On this trip I took some pics with my own cellphone, well I had some classmates with digital cameras. It goes without saying the pics they took will definitely show you guys clearer and more professional pics that reflect the way it's. What a pity, they are not at my hands now.

This hill is so sharp and towery, surrouded by vast farm in the season of harvest.  The window is not so clear.

So this is Li Jiang River. There are many sight-seeing boats for tourists to take a closer look at this wonder place. Cuz it feels quite different seeing from the perspective of a moving boat. The flowing water was crystal clear, and u can see float grass on  the riverbed.

A complete cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo will last hours, becuz it's a very long river. Allong the river were very high hills, u hv to raise ur head up high to see the tops.

This cruise lasted 1 hours or so, and we took many many photos. Our faces almost got numb for the long time of smile and laughters.

At night we checked in a local hotel. After dinner we hang out for a walk and shopping. You have to be ready all the time for illuminated stone hills that jump in your sight. Very beatiful, I snapped this scene on the street.

There is a very famous pedestrian street named " West street", 西街 in Chinese. The street was full of people, stuffs, bars. What impressed me much is there are many foreigners, and even local venders can speak very good english. A friend walking with me said, " Shame on me."

Very delicate handicrafts. Watch your wallet, becuz you feel like buying it every time u hv it in your hands.

The next morning we went to a cave.  What's in it??? !!  This gate reminds me of  "The Journey to the West ".

What a shock.

So this is Guilin City. Honestly I prefer Guangzhou.  : ))

Normally only superstars catch audience’s major attentions, few people would come to note a small potato, especially who has a long time off the entertainment biz.

She is 苗可秀, who worked together with Bruce Lee 李小龙 as a staring actor in early 70s, when she was a very young woman with slim figure and delicate sky. She was a dish !

They are good partners

Spearking of Chinese Kungfu, chances are that the image of Bruce lee playing nunchakus yelling "wa-hoo" comes to ur mind. Fair enough, he is the first Chinese Kufung movie star that went to Hollywood in early 70s, to show the whole world this is chinese kufung, and we are not "east-asia sicker". In turn he kicked up a kufung hit across the globe, and became an ideal of younger generation at the time.

But unfortunately he passed away in 1973 at his 32, leaving behind everlasting sigh a timeless legend. Without him there is no Jackie Chen or Jet li,  no moives featuring kungfu as we can see today. He changed the movie industry, and promoted the spirit of kungfu and patriotism.

Not just a tough guy, but also a great master, who impressed me also by his philosophy of life. He said, "Empty your mind,be formless,shapeless,like water; and you put water into a cup,it becomes the cup; you put water in a bottle,it becomes the bottle; you put water in teapot,it becomes the teapot.Water can flow or can crash.Be water,my friend."

I looked at you, everybody noticed me always looking at you, I couldn't remove my eyes from ur face, ur everything. Everybody knows you are the girl i care for so much.

But who is that man who came with u and who is gonna take u away. He has no face, or has a fabricated face i can never remember. Actually I give no damn as to who he is and where he is from, I just feel so sick noticing his existence, feel so sick to the fact you are with this guy.

In the meanwhile I was speaking, I was wearing my shoes, and dressing myself. Wondering what the F is that scene I give a handshake to this guy to say goodbye, all I desire was a kiss goodbye or a hug goodbye with u.

"Oh you don't have to do either of them, man." a voice came.

It's a nightmare. I woke up from sweating fear.

Recently I have been voice chatting with some friends every a couple days, with a shared aim --- to improve oral english.

Seems that there are always bottlenecks for people at all levels, as if it's much easier to get a progress as it seems first, but harder and harder to get a headway as your method works further. That means every method to learn english is beneficial at first, but doesn't stay effective all the time, you need to make some changes to the way you learn as you become "stronger". Take memorizing new words for example, it's efficient to have a word book at hands at the very begining, as your vocabulary grows, the more words you have in your mind, the easier it gets to forget, mispell, or misuse... Right now, what you need badly is use them in writing and speaking by making sentences, in a given situation. Yep, that's what we call changes.

Writing is right, before you work hard on speaking. You think and you write, or you write and think at the same time afterwards. But remember, how well you can write doesn't mean you can speak well, because you are given plenty of time to finish a sentence, an article, but not the case in speaking to someone, you have to react instantly, and give prompt replies. Generally, your brain works more intensively and in a much higher speed in speaking than writing.

So here is the problem, my brain can't follow my mouth !!!!!!!!

Me, too, been wondering how to work this out... after some practice and thinking, I got several points:

1. Try not to speak too fast at the first phase. Give enough time to your brain to come up with an idea and organize a sentence. Try to feel the pace, and keep your brain and mouth in pace harmoniously. Then speed up bit by bit and your thinking in english gets quicker and more active.

2. Relax. Have you noticed that things got worse when you got nevous as your mouth open wide, with no words coming out...  all you had was " uh... uh...."  Now you need to relax, and free your mind, say " you know" to save some time for you to think. It's really true that you perform much better in a relaxed state, than in a worried state---fearing of making mistakes or sth.

3. "Make sense" before " Impressive". The other day I saw Jackie Chan (成龙) in a TV talk show in a vedio clip on Youku.com, in which he told very hilarious stories about his expriences in shooting movies. He used a lot of body language to support his speaking, cuz we know his english is not quite good. But you know, all the audience were laughing off asses. His english was very simple, but enough to make sense, not very impressive though. What can you get from this clip ?

4. Talk to different people, but don't talk too often with those at much lower level. cuz they are holding you back and doing harm to you..  you don't exert your best cuz you are very careful in choosing a word, and try to make it easier to be understood. In a long term it's not good for you.

5. last not least, imitate the way native speakers do... simply from movies or sitcoms you like, sentence after sentence, just for fun... and sure you get not only fun, but a lot more.

The other day on MSN I promised Jamie to tell her more about the white snake legend. And late last night I posted this as an independent entry on my another blog to share with her. And here is for u guys.

It’s a traditional Chinese folk lord, from which some TV series and movies are adapted.

Long long ago, on a mountain lived 2 snake spirits, the white snake (W for short) and the green snake(G for short), they were so lonely that they always wanted to live among human, and one day the white snake was told by Kwan-yin ( sth like god) that 1000 years ago W was saved by a cowboy from being killed by a man. Now it’s her mission to reward this boy’s after-afterlife on this trip to the human society. Then W and G morphed into 2 beautiful ladies.

What a small world. W fell in love with a young man who happened to be the one she had been looking for, Xu Xian ( X for short), who ran a clinic, or let’s call it drugstore offering free medicine to the poor. They got married soon. However X was warned by a Buddhist monk named Fa Hai (F for short) that his wife has a fake appearance, and was given a kind of wine specially made to unveil her true color.

X listened to F, and was scared to death on seeing the huge white snake that his wife turned to be after taking the wine. W was so sorry to know the truth, and did everything she could to revive her husband. She flew all the way to get a potent medicinal herb, and luckily it worked. Then she told a lie to cast aside his fear of snake, and continued her role.

They were so much in love with each other, and they were so merciful and generous to the poor and sick. Everybody liked them.

However the monk F kept bothering them, and took every chance to separate them. One day he made it to kidnap X, and challenged W to have a fight. W didn’t want a fight, which may cause damage to the innocent people. But she had no other choice since the monk showed no mercy. A war was inevitable. But unfortunately she lost the game, and was boxed up under a tower.

X was so sad, he couldn’t live without W, so he made up his mind to be a monk, prayed to the Buddha everyday to clean up his sin. ( sth like going to church).

What a sad story.

Actually they had a son. And the second half of the novel was about his son who made himself a character with power, and did a lot of good deeds to save her mother. Good thing it was a happy ending, finally they had a family reunion. And the monk F bit the dust in a fight with the green snake, and escaped into a crab. Even today we can see an image resembling a monk who is sitting crosslegged, on the inside of the shell.

To sum up,

1.     The story encourages the freedom of love, no matter who you are, where you are from, when you are in love with each other, you are meant to be together, no one else has the right to deprive your true love.

2.     Those with a black heart are the truly evil, in the story obviously it’s the monk F rather than the snake spirit W that is the true demon.

3.     The evil has to die.

This goes out to my cousin who had his life on the run since 2004... The very last time I saw him was on the funeral of my grandma in 2006, and after that no one ever saw him again... once in a while hearsay about him comes back home, that's all we can get.

Foreword: This post is a letter to my old friend Lydia i wrote the other day, sets out to enlighten a little bit who hv been trying to find their ways out. Just take what u think is right for reference. Meanwhile, hope u don't mind my posting it here for share, Lydia. ( I will be adding more I come up with in the near future). Here it goes.

Dear Lydia

Thank you for the letter. So great it's Friday night and i have a weekend ahead... It's gonna be the last week of my internship next week. Then my vacation begins when your school begins.

Lydia, I have faith in you, and i truely believe you can get a great progress if you try. It's never too late to learn, let's start from here !! I am telling you english is a language, you never know when you need it for life or work, and it's a step-by- step process, no shortcut way to go. You have to memorize new words one by one, again and again by using them in writing and speaking. You have to keep listening to english materials every one or two days, or three days, you have to !!!  I can't help you study it, but I think I may be a little helpful to guild you a right way to learn. Here are some advices on vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking.

                                                 (1) Vocabulary

There are always new words to us, too many to learn all by heart. So we just need to learn words that are useful to us. What are they, and where are they?

Words are in life, you look around, what do you call this, what do you call that in english? You don't know !! So that's what you need to know about in english !!

Since you know they are new and strange to you, and there are many many more to learn, and you are getting confused as you meet more and more new words. Now you need a notebook to write down those new words, and make sure you read the words right.  Spend some time to review them every couple days or weeks, after serveal times they are no longer new to you !!

Try to think about how to spell a word in your spare time. Actually you don't have to, just try !!

Try to write more in english, from doing this you are repeating the words we usually use in our daily life. And those are the most important words, they are basically enough for us to express ourselves. It's said that with a vocabulary of 2000 words, there is no problem to communicate with foreigners.

There is a thinking pattern to follow, that is to associate the english word with the object or the motion it refers to, rather than its corresponding Chinese word, or let's say its chinese meaning. For example u see the word ' apple', what goes through ur mind should be an apple rather than the chinese world '苹果'. So that saves a process of interpreting from english to chinese. u will definitely benefit from doing so in a long term.

Besides, please feel free to talk to me in english when you are on the internet. I will never laugh at you even sometimes you make slight mistakes. I am telling you, i make a lot of mistakes too, but after the mistakes i learn what's right and what's wrong. I also grew up this way !!

                                                    (2) Reading

Reading is my weakness, I can't read fast. I think it results from my lack of reading books. But I find a better way to improve my reading skills, that is to read on the internet.

There are a lot of english websites, on which we can read interesting stories, up-to-date news, all of them in real english. They are books, books on the internet we can read anywhere and anytime.

Read intensively and extensively. Sometimes you need to read more, and read fast ( what we call scanning and skimming); but sometimes we need to focus on a short story or a paragraph, to know clearly what it says, and make sure you have learned the new words in it.

Check out the enclosed files, they are some english websites I am recommending to you on readings.


                                                    (3) Writing

Try to write down your thoughts in english. Maybe it feels very difficult for you to do this at the very begining, as time goes by you are making it easier for u.  

There are some principles to follow:

1) Start from simple english, use simple words, simple sentence. Don't try to use big words and strange words.

2) It's not already done when you have finished a composition. You need to review and revise it, find out where you can improve.

3) Read more, before you can write better.

4) concise, don't be too wordy !!

                                                  (4) Speaking

You can never take away speaking from listening. Listen right before u speak right-- listen to the right people speaking (those native english speakers and Chinese with right accent), I personally prefer American accent.


It doesn't hv to be in a face to face talk where u get a first hand listening materials, as we alll know there are loads of materials on the internet downloadable, or available to watch and listen online.

Ok now u r supposed to imitate the way they speak, cuz engish as a language is not made in china. We gotta follow their way, which i call the "shortcut". Most importantly we hv to open our mouth, speaking to those would like to listen, even sometimes to yourself. If u can't get a listener in the real life, go to the internet where there are a bunch of people in your shoes, u can hv a voice talk with them. Sure it would be perfect if he or she is an english speaking foreigner.

What's more, I just singing english songs, and i found it helpful to practise our buccal muscle, enabling u to be ready for any blurt-out moment.

                                                   (5) Grammar

Grammar is important, but not the most important. It's the base of your english.

If you have any questions about grammar, you can ask me anytime... I am always at your service !!!

And you can Baidu it. There are usually the answers you want there.

Finally, promise me you will work hard on it !! I am behind you supporting you, Lydia !!

Haha, sounds like ads... well it's an ad, english-practice-partner-wanted advertising. Cuz u know english as a language is not just about writing, but also about speaking which is seemingly more important.

At least i found it helpful to hv voice chats with good english speakers, once a day or two, half an hour or so each time. Trust me!!

i am back with quite a long time no login, no comments, no updates...  August I found myself a loser.

I met a girl, whom I love more than myself. I care so much for her, and she knows. We had a great time when Olympics was going on. Now things seem to hv changed, what's wrong with me and her?

I can't let her go.

My summer part-time came to the end on Aug 29, when everyone came back to school I just began my long vacation. I need to rest.

Was watching around in Youku.com through the whole morning, and i was shocked by the video clips of car accidents.

There were super sports cars, sedans, and limos, but the endings seemed the same, in accidents. I thought to myself how many people died from car accidents in a day... every sec, every single moment there are countless accidents happening. Some die, some lose the legs or, luckier some survive from injury.

It could be the pursuit of speed or due to carelessness or some other unexpected reasons that lead to a tragedy. In face of accidents, people are always helpless.

But

It doesn't mean it's fate that people can't escape, or  there is nothing can be done about it. If they had slowed down a little bit, kept concentrated all the time, bear in mind that safty always comes first, it couldn't have been an accident.

Watching the videos I came to have a fear of driving on roads. Now that i have a driver's license though, i think it really takes a long time and more practices before i can be a good driver that posts no threat, or less, to the public.

Drive safe, drive safe... nothing is more important than that !!
