Friendship

In choosing a friend, one should be careful. A good friend is as valuable as a precious stone. He can help you in studying; you have fun when you are together and make each other happy. Sometimes you will meet fair-weather friends who will be with you as long as you have money or luck. But when you are down, they will run away. We do not like loneliness, so for us friends are very important. We look for in friends certain qualities of character, especially understanding, honesty and reliability.

A good friend tries to understand what the other person is feeling. He is not to judge other’s thinking. Instead, he tries to learn from others. He puts himself in the other person’s place and tries to think of ways to be helpful. At the same time he is a good listener.

A good friend is honest. He does not look faults in others. But he does not ignore them, either. He would rather focus on their good points.

Another quality of a friend is reliability. If we nee* * **vor, a friend will do his best to help us; if we are in trouble, he will not desert us .
