  • No the Ultimate Happiness

    2007-12-13 14:35:39

It is said that the depression is derived from the failure in pursuing the happiness. So if the ultimate goal of our life is to own the happiness, I am afraid that we would feel depressed in our whole life, because the ultimate happiness happened in the fairy tale only.

Happiness is always short-lived. We can not own the happiness but keep pursuing the happiness, because there is no perfect human situation. Our birthright is not to enjoy the happiness but to pursue it.

My grandpa and grandma have 2 sons and 4 daughters that are living in the city now. The old couple can live with their sons or daughters in the city. However, they choose to stay home and take care of their farmland. They know that living with children does not mean the ultimate happiness. They stay with their farmland, plant in spring, harvest in autumn and sell out the golden corn. That is the happiness they are familiar with though it is tough.

  • Strong or Bloodiness

    2007-11-23 13:30:49

On July 15 in lunar calendar, I came to my hometown for visiting graves of my ancestors to cherish the memory of them. We killed two sheep as the sacrifice. It recalled my first sight at the scene of killing sheep 18 years ago. At that time, my young heart was too weak to bear such a usual and cruel slaughter. I cried secretly for the little sheep to be slaughtered and was unwilling to eat its meat. Now, I can sit back and watch the knife cut off the throat, watch the sheep struggle till death, watch the sheepskin be taken off and enjoy its meat with relish. I don't know whether I should be pleased for my strong or feel sad for our bloodiness.
  • An Original Maxim

    2007-10-19 22:35:19

Today I thought out an original maxim by chance. That is "Good handwriting can make ordinary paper beautiful."

Because I forgot to bring my notebook for taking notes in the class of Adaptive Control, I have to write on my letterheads. Although taking notes in letterheads may be too luxurious, it looked better than writing on the paper for making manuscrīpt. At that time, I suddenly thought of a classmate in primary school, whose name is Zhou Huaiqin. He has talent in calligraphy. His handwriting was so wonderful and his notebooks and homework always exhibited in our class. We did our homework in the same kind of notebooks, but his notebooks were so different. We hold his notebooks in our hands carefully and were afraid of damaging his notebooks by our carefulness.

When you write beautiful characters on an ordinary paper, the paper would become beautiful. In contrast, if we put ugly characters or brushworks on a fine paper, it would make the paper looked sick. The texture of paper is just like our appearance, the handwriting is our self-cultivation. Somebody looks beautiful, somebody looks normal. But good manner and self-cultivation can make normal person attractive. On the contrary, if beautiful person do not care about his self-cultivation, he can not make anybody feel well.

  • Be Well-Mannered Person

    2007-10-19 01:19:40

In our daily life, if all of people are gentle and well-mannered, our harmonious society would be not far from us. It is actually not difficult to be gentle, a small number of selfish people make it too difficult to realize. It is a rotten apple that injures its neighbors. For example, when we order fired noodles in a eatery, the person who ordered dishes first should eat the first, that's the rule. But there are some people, we don't know whether they were really stupid or they pretended to be foolish, that don't know to wait for their turns. It seemed that we have no need to scrabble for dishes with him, because that will make us appeared narrowness. But the unfairness dose make us upset and angry.

Today, I saw some cartoons on the way to my dorm. Two men have dinner together in a dining-room, after dinner person A paid the bill for both of them. One day, they have dinner together again. After dinner, person B proposed to go Dutch. Of course, person A would be angry for that. It was not just the problem of money, it was not fair. It is said that nothing can be accomplished without norms or standards. So let's jointly safeguard the principle of fairness and not to scrabble for the dishes each other.
