                           3.1   Solubility(first period of lesson)

    Teaching purpose:

Knowledge: Make students to understand the concept of solubility .Find out the effect of temperature on the solubility of solid, and the meaning of the curve of solubility. Introduce the effect of temperature on the solubility of substance and pressure.

Capability: Train the ability of observe, analysis, conclude of the students

Teaching on thinking: to educate student study surefooted.

Key-point: to form the concept of solubility. Understand the concept of the solubility of solid, and be able to differentiate the concept on solubility and solvency.

Teaching method: Use heuristic teaching base on the students.

    Teaching appliance:

Apparatus: Balance, poise, measuring cylinder, beaker, stirrer, alcohol burner, asbestos web, tripod and thermometer.

    Chemical: Sodium chloride, potassium nitrate.

Others: sugar, oil, petrol, distilled water, match.

quizWe discuss the saturation under which precondition have a actual meaning?

Recall then point out the precondition.

Review, the saturated and unsaturated solutions are relatively.

    student experiment

Experiment 1add the sugar and oil   to two beakers which half filled with water respectively.

Do the experiment by groups, observe the dissolution and make conclusion.

Educe the conclusion on different substance have different solubility in water by the students.

Experiment 2add the sugar and oil to two beakers which half filled with petrol respectively.

    Same as above

Educe the conclusion on different substance have different solubility in petrol by the students.

summaryWe know that different solute have different solubility in different solvent by go through the experiments.

    Introduce the new lesson.

    Concepttextbook P·134

Read through the textbook P·134Find out the concept in original text.

Let the students understand the concept further.

discussWhat  is  the factor that affect the solubility

Base on the experiment discuss out the conclusion and response.

Educe the factors which affect the solubility by the studentsThe property of solute and solvent.

Introduceresolvable is simply means the property of the substance. How to measure the solubility of substance? Let us work out the solubility of a substance.

Follow the teacher’s concept, and transition naturally.

Transit to the teaching of solubility.

    student experiment

Experiment 3, add the sodium chloride to the beaker which contains of 20℃ water, and add potassium nitrate to the beaker which contains of 40℃ water to saturate.

Do the experiment by groupscompare the conditions, and discuss whether we can compare the solubility of the two substances or not.

The first factor to measure the solubility of substance: under certain temperature.

    Teacher’s activity

    Students’ activity

    Teaching intention

Experiment 4, add sodium chloride to   40g of water in 20℃and add potassium nitrate to 100g of water in 20℃ to saturate.

Experiment 5 add sodium chloride to 100g of water in 20℃ to saturate. add potassium nitrate to 100g of water in 20 ,make it to  unsaturated solution.

    Same as above.

The second factor to measure the solubility of substanceIn the same volume of solution viz. 100 g of solution

The third factor to measure the solubility of substancemake the solution to saturate

summaryAfter discuss, we know that to measure the solubility must satisfy the four factors.

Link the experiments above and teacher’s makeup, to conclude the four factors of solubility.

To train the ability of analyze, compare, and conclude of the students.

Instruct the students to draw the curve table of solubility

Base on the data of the form 7-1temperature is on x-axissolubility is on y-axis, and sketch the curve.
