Difference between Chinese and Swiss

New Roman" color=#ff00ff size=3>During the coffee time after lunch, I talked with one of my colleagues, who came from Swiss. It was really interesting to realize how the different it is about the thoughts between Chiense and Swiss.

1. Treatment to parents.

You may used to take it as responsibility to take care of parents when they are going to be old, women also think it is their duty to take care of everything of her husband's parents, should live together, give them money, take care of everything of them.....

But in Swiss, there always are some special place for the old persons. It is hard to understand to live with the old people and take care of them, because that should be done by the special persons in those places...People will go there to see their parents regularly with some presents, it's the same way to treat man's parents and the woman's parents.

2. About marriage.

In China you may think it is misery if someone ever been divorced. It will affect her( or him) for a long time, even forever.

Situation in Swiss: About 80% people have more than 1 times marriges. They think it is very normal to be divorced, and being divorced will not affect the next marriages' quality.

wrong English, it should be relationship to parents...

In Swiss, tax is very very high...government use people's tax to take care of the old....therefore, they don't need to give their parents money because they have paid tax instead....

some special place for the old persons???? you made it sound like mental home....no, we call it retirement home or retirement village....they are beautiful homes, man..I am telling you...

I will live in a retirement home when I am old....but I will make sure that there are lots of handsome gentlemen living next to me....I love dating!

Live with your children? Shit No! I need my personal space and who wants to stuck with more people together if you can live in a big home by yourself.....if I live with my children (if I decide to have children infuture), I can't bring gentlemen home, can I? Can't have parties, can I? So not a good idea to live with children!!!!

second, divorce issues???

why is that a big problem???

we love someone for who he/she is....no matter how many times he/she divorced...how many children he/she has had....and we also don't care about his/her past...none of our business, really.......

I wonder why chinese always write their love adz like: "I am 38, have divorced, have two children.....ect ect"

That's shocking to me.....why you need to write that down in your love adz? You are looking for a lover NOT A MAID, man!

funny......now I think I kind of understand your culture now.....because you care and others also care about your past, so you have to state clearly your marriage status and No. of children...otherwise, people will think you try to cheat, won't they????
