  • April Fool's Day, am I fooled?

    2008-04-01 12:52:50

I  like  this  festival,  because it is full of fun.  But  only  when  my  friend  told  me of  that,  did  I  realize  the festival  came  to  me.  Haha,  what  am  I  doing  these  days,  I  forget  it!Ok,I will trick my friends,my family, teachers as much as I can.  God sends  this gift  to us  to  make  life  more  lively.  How can we ignore  god's kindness?

I like to save  time for  English chatting and  learning,  so today I didn't go back to  the dorm room.  When I openned my QQ, I came acroos a friend, who I  didn't know  exactly.  Then we talked for  a  long time. Talking about his girlfriend, he told me he hasn't one at present. He asked me to introduce some of my fellow students to him.I responded that without their allowance, I was reluctant to. Then he said:"What about you? you needn't any allowance!"  God! He was so clever. Then I made up a story abut myself, telling him how perfect a girl I was.  Of  course he knew it, coz it is April Fool's Day!

Am I fooled by him? If not,I think he is a brave boy and has made a further step. If so, I think he is a clever and smart boy.

Be careful, watch out for the tricks your friends are going to play on you!

Do you have some fun stories on this special day?

    I'd like to share them!

  • Am I wrong?

    2008-01-02 08:08:18

The  new  year  was  not  usual,   I  must  say.   In  the  three-day  holiday,  I  have  experienced  my  first  part-time  job  outside  of  school,   what's  more,   I  learned  my  first  social  lesson  at  the  end  of   the  work.

The  stealing  happenned  in  the  bus  stop.   At  that  time,  I  was  handing  out  the  shits  of  a  mobilephone  advertisement   I  saw  two  social  teenajers intend  to  steal  a  girl's  valuables  in  her  bag,   I  thought  I  should  tell her  to  watch  out  for  the  thieves.   So  I  went  up  to  her  and  pretended  to  hand  her  an  advertisement  shit.   Then  I  told  her  thieves  were  near  her,  she  asked  where  so  I  pointed  the  thieves   meters  away.   At  that  time,  the  thieves  were  staring  at  us  so  they  knew  clearly  what  I  had done.

After  that,  I  walked  back.   On  my  way  back,  one  of  the  thieves  ran  towards  me  and  hit  me  on  my  shoulder.  He  cursed  me  threatenningly.   Since  there  were  people  nearby,  he  didn't  do  anything  worse  to  me.   But  then  and  a  long  time  after  that,  I  was  really  afraid  of  being  beaten  by  them.

Am  I  wrong ?    My  classmates  and  many  other  people  told  me  society  is  complicated  and  everything  possible  will  happen  and  I  should  ignore  the  bad  phenomenons.    At  the  risk  of  my  safety,   out  of  the  intention  of  preventing  such  ugly  phenomens  from  happenning,   I  forged  ahead  when  I  should  and  wanted   to.   But  I  am  now  wondering  whether  there  is  need  to  do  that  next  time   and  whether  I  will.

  • Jingle bells

    2007-12-24 15:27:31

    dashing through the snow
     on a one-horse open sleigh
     over the fields we go
     laughing all the way
     bells on bob-tail ring
      making spirits bright
what fun it is to ride and sing
     a sleighing song tonight
     jingle bells, jingle bells
     jingle all the way
oh what fun it is to ride
     in a one-horse open sleigh
     jingle bells,jingle bells
     jingle all the way
oh what fun it is to ride
in a one horse open sleigh
     jingle bells, jingle bells
     jingle all the way
oh what fun it is to ride
     in a one-horse open sleigh
     jingle bells,jingle bells
     jingle all the way
oh what fun it is to ride
in a one horse open sleigh
     Over...
  • Merry Christmas

    2007-12-21 14:03:30

Even  though  Christmas  hasn't  come  yet,   we  are  talking  about  it  and  celebrating  it.   As  English  majors,  we  are  receiving  western  culture  from  our  teachers.

What  is  Christmas?   It  is  the  birthday  of  Jesus,   first  celebrated  in  Rome  in  336  AD.   The  word  Christmas  comes  from  " Christ's  Mass"  and  its  short  form  is  Xmas.

Christmas  is  both  a  holiday  and  a  holy  day.   In  America,  it  is  the  biggest  event  of  the  year  especially  for  kids.   For  members  of  the  Christian  religions  it  is  an  important  day  of  the  religious  calendar.   The  federal  government,  all  state  governments,  all  schools,   colleges,  universities  and  the  vast  majority  of  business  in  America  give  employees  one  or  two  days  off  for  this  holiday.

Why  is  Christmas  sometimes  called  Xmas?   Because  the  number  of  letters  in  Xmas  is  the  same  with  the  word  Sale.  Bussinessmen  often  adopt  it  to  make  advertisements.

Christmas  tree  is  popular  in  western  families.   It  is  always  an  evergreen  decorated  with  ornaments,   plastic  tinsels,  candies  hung  with ribbons. There are  wreaths  which  stand  for  strength  of  life  overcoming  the  forces  of  winter  and  victories.

On  Christmas  Eve,   Santa  Claus,  the  Father  Christmas,   give  presents  from  chimneys  and  he  will  give  the  naught  children  lumps  of  coal.  So  don't  be  naughty.   It  is  said  that  the  first  presents  he  ever  gave  were  to  three  poor  girls  who  were  desperate  for  dowries.

There  are  many  Christmas  songs  and  "Jintle Bells"  is a  vigorous  one,   we  can  sing  it  with  friends  on  Christmas.

         Merry  Christmas!
