Recently two things have happened to two acquaintances of mine. They are both suffering from usury. One of them has fled after an immediate divorce and the other has sold his house, which is the only of his in order to pay off the debts.

They two have had a fervent desire to become rich at no costs. However they are both teachers, how can they be expected to amass wealth at a quick speed and therefore enjoy the luxury that can be brought about. They have paid for their adventures dearly.

One of them has been dumped into loading money from some usurer and he just can’t pay for it now, which is why he sold his house. The other has loaned one million Yuan from the bank, and wished to use it as a capital to loan it to others. His dream to become usurer himself has failed. And he had to flee from his home. In order to estrange his wife from his misfortune, he divorced his wife, only to flee alone.

Hearing the adventures of the two guys, I feel adventures are not as funny as those of Tom Sawyer. They are only tragic. Not only they themselves, but also his families, are suffering from their blindfold adventures. 

I would rather be deemed as the most incapable man in the world than letting my family be tormented by such worries and cares.

So many Chinese are out of employment now. They have to make a living. It may be desperate attempts for them to make a living. Though we are deemed so low in the society, we don’t have to worry about our survival. We have a salary, though meager, to base our life on. Why not be content with our present lifestyle and give our family a stable and adequate income.

Some may say I am only shortsighted and incapable. But we are teachers, we should concentrate on our job. So long as we want to do our best in our job, where can we find time to do all these businesses?

So many people are very ambitious in our society. They think they are only competent to do more in life. They are not content with their living conditions. They are avid for changes. However the reason why they suffer so much from the speculation is that they plunged into it without careful deliberation.

I think we should take lessons from their sufferings and misfortunes. It is not bad for us to be ambitious. What matters most is we should think twice before we leap.
