• Express Your Love,Don't buy it

      Many times,the small things in life, which we often ignore, are more important than the ones that we consider far more valuable. This theme is highlighted in Kenny Rogers' song "Buy Me a Rose". In this song, he insists on the fact that the expression of love plays a significant role in a relationship. However, many people seem to ignore this fact and assume that love can be expressed through wealth and riches.
      In his song,Kenny Rogers narrates the story of a wife whose husband loves her very much. However, she thinks that the way her husband shows her his love is not appropriate. According to her husband, the best way of showing his love to his wife is by providing her with all the wealth and comforts of life. Consequently, he works hard day and night and is thus not able to devote any of his time to her. His wife, however, argues that this is not what she wants. All she wants for him is to show her more affection by giving her more of his time, caring for her and by expressing his feelings for her. These are the things that she yearns for in her life and not the big, flashy things that he has given her.
      "Buy me a rose, call me from work,
      Open a door for me ,what would it hurt?
      Show me you love me by the look in your eyes,
      These are the little things i need the most in my life."
      To her,these are all the things that can bring her maximum joy and happiness. Although her husband loves her very much, his way of showing his love for her is creating distances between the two. And as time passes by, the distance keeps increasing.
      This song expresses how we lead our lives in today's world and how we think that it takes a lot to make a person happy. It is always the simple pleasure of life which make a difference. It is never the big and flashy things.
      The main idea of "Buy Me a Rose" is that people who are closer to us deserve more sincere expressions of our love, which may be found in smaller things in life. Spending time with them rather than spending money on them is a better way of expressing our love. We should learn to express our feelings than to show our love through material goods.
      Express your love.
  
      很多时候，我们在生活中忽略的一些小事，比我们自以为有意义得多的大事更为重要。这一观点在肯尼.罗杰斯的歌《为我买一朵玫瑰花》中就得到了充分的体现。歌中他现实地指出，说情话在男女关系中的地位举足轻重，然而许多人似乎对此不加理睬，以为金钱与财富就能表达爱。
      歌中，肯尼。罗杰期描述了这样一个故事：有一位妻子，她有一位非常爱她的丈夫，然而她却认为丈夫向她示爱的方式不理想。在她丈夫看来，向妻子示爱的最佳方式就是把所有的钱都掏给她，让她过着安逸的生活。于是他没日没夜地工作，结果不能匀出时间来陪妻子。然而他妻子却抱怨这不是她想要的，她只想他多花点时间陪陪她，关心她，向她倾诉情话。用这样的方式来表达他更多的爱，她在生活中渴望的就是这些，而不是丈夫给她的那些金光闪闪的玩意。
      “为我买一朵玫瑰花，工作时给我一个电话，
      为我开开门，这样做你会难受吗？
      用你含情脉脉的眼神告诉我你的爱，
      我生活中多么需要这些小小的表达。”
      对她来说，这些才最能使她感到快乐幸福。虽然她丈夫非常爱她，但丈夫表达爱的方式却拉开了两人的距离，并随着时间的推移在不断扩大这个距离。
      这首歌表达了我们当今的生活方式以及我们以为让一个人快乐要付出许多代价的想法。生活的改善往往是来自一些朴实无华的欢愉，而不是非要借助宏大奢华之物。
      《为我买一朵玫瑰花》的主要观点是，我们的爱人值得我们用更真诚的方式来传情达意，而这些方式往往正是生活中的许多小事。多花时间陪他们比给他们钱更表达出我们的爱。我们应学着说出自己的感情，而不是让爱的表达依赖于物质。

• 两只猪猪的刻骨爱情

  Love of the two pigs
  
  Wen and Zhe are pigs. They have known each other and been in love since they were little.
  
  They love each other so much, as if there were no others in the world.
  
  Zhe takes very good care of Wen.
  
  When they have dinner, Zhe always reserves the best for Wen.
  
  Wen grows fat happily under Zhe's good care.
  
  But on a dark windy night, their master decides to sell the fatter one to the butcher's house.
  
  Watching Wen in her sleep, Zhe stays wide awake that night. He knows that Wen will be the one if things go on like this.
  
  Zhe decides to sacrifice himself. For the first time in his life, Zhe starts a fight with Wen, which breaks his heart so bad.
  
  However Wen tries, Zhe never talks to her anymore.
  
  After that, Zhe always has fat meals without waiting up for Wen. Wen starts to slim down because of the heartbreak. But Zhe gets bigger and bigger everyday.
  
  Zhe writes down " I Love You" on the wall the night before death.
  
  Zhe is taken away from Wen forever. "If words can't speak themselves, my death will say it all."
  
  Wen finally sees what Zhe has done for her. She doesn't even have a chance to say " I Love You" to Zhe now.
  
  Wen decides to leave the place that has the sad memory and live her own life, also Zhe's.

• Dare to Believe

  Dare to Believe

  

  Everybody Knows:
  You can't be all things to all people.
  You can't do all things at once.
  You can't do all things equally well.
  You can't do all things better than everyone else.
  Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's.

  
  So:
  You have to find out who you are, and be that.
  You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
  You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
  You have to learn not to compete with others,
  Because no one else is in the contest of *being you*.

  
  Then:
  You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
  You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
  You will have learned to live with your limitations.
  You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due.
  And you'll be a most vital mortal.

  

  Dare To Believe:
  That you are a wonderful, unique person.
  That you are a once-in-all-history event.
  That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are.
  That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
  And you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.

• silent meaning

  Silent meaning   The word not spoken goes not quite unheard. It lingers in the eye, in the semi-arch of brow. A gesture of the hand speaks pages more than words, The echo rests in the heart as driftwood does in sand, To be rubbed by time until it rots or shines. The word not spoken touches us as music does the mind.

• 英语学习要持之于恒

  1] Languages are for communication and if you always work alone in lessons, you are denying yourself the opportunity to put language into use. Working in pairs and small groups will give you more time to spend trying out new language.
  
  Don't worry if the teacher cannot hear and correct every mistake you make. Remember mistakes disappear with time. Class are a good way to meet other people who want to learn the same language as you, and you don't have to limit your contact to lesson times only.
  
  Why not meet up after class and help one another with revision and testing? You can compare notes on things you found difficult and swap information about the materials you have useful. Your 'buddies' can provide lots of ideas of different ways to help you learn as well as being sympathetic, supportive listeners when the going gets tough.
  
  2] How can I Maintain Motivation? Maintaining motivation is critical for success in language learning and, as we have said before, you should be ready to take the rough with the smooth. During the course of your studies there may be periods when you'll experience negative feelings towards the language you are learning.
  
  These feelings will include:
  *frustration, when your progress seems slow
  *uncertainty,when you don't fully understand things
  *annoyance, when you keep forgetting something simple *boredom,when you have to do the same thing over and over again
  *resentment, that everything has to be so complicated and that English can't work in the same way as Chinese.
  
  3] Obviously we aren't trying to put you off learning English, but as these feelings are likely to surface at different times, it's best to aware that they are quite normal and you won't be alone in feeling this way.
  
  Of course, at other times you'll feel:
  *satisfaction, when you see yourself making progress
  *interest, as you learn more about the ways in which language operate
  *amusement, when you come across a novel phrase or expression
  *stimulation, when you encounter new ways of thinking and talking about the world
  *pride, in your growing ability to understand the new language and to express thoughts and feelings.
  
  4] As you experiment and discover the ways in which you learn best, you will also feel a growing confidence in yourself and in your ability to learn successfully.
  
  
  1] 语言是用来交际的。如果你总是独自学习，你就失去了练习运用语言的机会。配对练习、小组练习会给你提供更多的时间来尝试运用新学到的语言知识。

  Honesty and helpfulness can make you look more attractive

  　　What would you think of this lady's physical attractiveness if she exhibited bad personal traits?

  　　If you exhibit positive traits such as honesty and helpfulness, the chances are that you will be perceived as a good looking person, for a new study has found that the perception of physical attractiveness is influenced by a person's personality.

  　　The study, led by Gary W. Lewandowski, Jr, found that people who exhibit negative traits, such as unfairness and rudeness, appear to be less physically attractive to observers.

  　　In the study, the participants viewed photographs of opposite-sex individuals and rated them for attractiveness before and after being provided with information on personality traits.

  　　After personality information was received, participants also rated the desirability of each individual as a friend and as a dating partner.

  　　Information on personality was found to significantly alter perceived desirability, showing that cognitive processes modify judgments of attractiveness.

  　　"Perceiving a person as having a desirable personality makes the person more suitable in general as a close relationship partner of any kind," said Lewandowski.

  　　The findings show that a positive personality leads to greater desirability as a friend, which leads to greater desirability as a romantic partner and, ultimately, to being viewed as more physically attractive.

  　　The findings remained consistent regardless of how "attractive" the individual was initially perceived to be, or of the participants' current relationship status or commitment level with a partner.

  　　"This research provides a more positive alternative by reminding people that personality goes a long way toward determining your attractiveness; it can even change people's impressions of how good looking you are," said Lewandowski.
