有心的老师可以为学生们算算，他们有多少时间可以自由活动的。作为一名班主任，我们必须比学生去的早，比学生走的晚。基本上从早上5点半起床一直在学校待到学生离开要到晚上10点半。回到家里精疲力竭，狠不得倒头就睡。有时候两个星期都来不即洗澡。平时跟外界基本上是隔绝的，有的老师一个星期不出一次校门。学生更是如此。另外学校两周休息一天。就是休周日，但老师和学生必须在周日的晚上回校上晚自习。晚自习全算给班主任，如果不去，领导会跟你谈话。如果去了，也没有丝毫报酬。平均每天的工作量在14个小时以上。每个月考一次试，学校要进行比较，算入老师的教学成绩中，弄的老师和学生人心惶惶的。这就是现在地方上教育的现状。听到省厅要进行改革，老师们的反应非常冷漠，都认为是不可能的。真是教育的悲哀啊。有的学生把学校比作文明的监狱其实一点都不过分。不过这里的监狱里不光关着学生，而且关着老师而已。。。。

Well, my major was Spanish. Spanish is my first foreign language. I do not have any idae about SAT since I took GRE. I got scholarship from several American universities. TOEFL and GRE results are important but the admission committee will also take into consideration other stuff, such as your extracurricular activities, recomendation letters, your statement of purpose, etc.

I would have to say I am a high school student right now.So,my major is science.~~
I hope I will be successfully admitted by one university next fall.I am not sure because I have another exam after TOEFL.
SAT,alomst every chinese student has to take it if he or she eager to gain more scholarship.It is harder than TOEFL,fortunately,no listening and speaking in it.

- yep i am in new york but will go to Shenzhen next month. i took the exam in 2000 and maybe it's harder now i have no clue. however i think you are doing a pretty good job practicing your writing. when write an article, do it as if you were taking an actual exam. do this in a quite place and finish the article within half an hour (are you gonna have half an hour to do the writing when take the exam? anyway pay attention to the time limit).
Memorize some sample essays will help too. I suppose you've done that already.
As to oral english, you have to practice. no short cut. try to watch more tv programs in english. if you can not find people with whom you can practice, do it by yourself. find a topic you are interested in, and talk to yourself about the topic in english. record your talk then listen to it to find mistakes or unclear pronunciation. i bet if you do this on a daily basis you can have better results.
