A funny thing

Yesterday, I met a net friend on line. I’m sure I never chatted with him before. At first, he chatted with me in English. Well, I think he like English very much and I replied him in English too. After that, he chatted with me in Chinese instead of in English. But I still spoke English. Meantime, I just introduced myself. Then, I asked him, “Could you introduce yourself briefly?” 

After several minutes, he replied it. However, I didn’t quite catch on to his meaning. I guessed that he had to an urgent matter to attend to. Then, I said “ so long” to him.

Can you guess his replied, my friend?

“4 or 5 hours.” He replied.

I was all tied in knots. What on earth did he mean? There are a lot of questions in my mind. Quickly, I knew he had misunderstood the words.

“You mistook my meaning entirely, my friend. I said “goodbye” to you.” I replied again.

“Oh, goodbye!” he answered.  He soon brought the chat to a close.
