New Roman" size=4>"Ristricting of plastic bags" should be fully put into practice
It is well know that from June 1,all the supermakets, department stores,groceries and other retailers have been banned to offer free plastic shopping bags or super-thin plastic bags to their consumers across China.But according to my experience, it is not really the truth.The policies are not fully applying,especially in the groceries and the vegetalbe makets.
As usual I went to the vegetable maket on my way home to buy some vegetables for supper on June 3,the third day of the applying of the "ristricting of plastic bags". I brought a big cloth bag and some plastic bags the makets freely offered bebore with me. But to my astonishment, the sellers were still providing super-thin plastic bags and other kinds of plastic bags freely that were forbidden on the policy. When I bought some bittern chichen in a store, the woman seller even packet the chicken with several plastic bags. Maybe she wanted to show her hostility and good service. But I think it was really a big wast and environment-hurt.
"I heard that you sellers are forbidden to provided plastic bags from June 1, do you konw it?" I asked the fat and deft woman.
" I heard of it,too. But if I would not give you plastic bags, maybe you will no longer buy things from me." She said. "All of us offered (plastic bags)."
I did not need even take out of my own bags in the makets. There was nothing different from it was before June 1.
And the other day I bought some commodities from a grocery, the owner provided plastic bags too.
I have ever bought a suit of clothes in a big mall, they refused to gave free plastic bags. But when I explaied that I would present the clothes to a friend as gift and I'd better packet them ,they gave me a paper bag.
The "Ristricting of plastic bags" is a good method to reduce the so called "white polution" and it is a environment-friendly policy which gained the support of most Chinese. But how to put the policy into fully practice? I think it needs the collaborating both the retailers and customers，as well as the law enforcement departments.
