Six years' English Learning, Hard to Communicate with Foreigners

First welcome you to visit my English blog.
Write a blog is not a fangle thing for me, but in English it's really strange for me. My major in
Colleage was Electronic Technology, due to my hard work in school, I have passed CET-6,
and in these nearly 3 working-years I also use English sometimes, so I planned to land a job
in foreign trade industry. But on the other hand, as you know, the university in China have
some mistakes in English teaching, and although many students passed CET-4, CET-6 and
even TEM-8, many of them cann't speak fluent English, let alone communicate with
foreigners smoothly. Why? Why that happenned?
When we go to an interview, the HR of that company usually ask us whether we have gotten
English certificate like CET-4, CET-6 and any other certificates that can approve your
English name. But frankly speaking, does that a mere scrap of paper really can approve
your English level? Maybe not. maybe we can read, we can write, but we can't speak
fluently or communicate with foreigners smoothly. What we should do to change this
situation? Pratice, Pratice, Pratice!!!
We should fine more chances to exercise our real English level, especially listening and
speaking. What's the purpose we learning English? Nothing but for communication.
So we should envisage our real English level and make a big effort to cultivate speaking
capability not only just for reading and writing. That's all. Thanks for your reading!

as you know,most of us seldom have chance to communicate with foreigner,what is more,our work may have less connect with english,so this is the biggest barrier prevent learner to going far.under this environment,we may do well in the beginning,but few can persist to the ending.so i hope we should work together,learn from each other,encourage each other.

Hehe, OK, that's right.
I can understand majority of what your write, except a few words I don't know. I'm now just trying to learn PET4(not CET) at home by myself.
I just finished my undergradute courses this April. And then, I always wanna find a English website that is good for advanced English learning. I find this webside is OK.
I agree with what you said. That's very important to practise what we learned often. Chinese companies are strange, as if they only look forward English certificates.
The weakness of my English is listening. I like Egnlish very much, but have few time to talk to a really English people. Furthermore, I don't get used to the audio record when learning English passages.
Anyway, hope I'll be happy to stay here in the future. It's really hard to find nice English learning website so far for me. Some of them are so easy, from which I didn't find myself learned so much from. Some of them are so professional that the time for me to look up dictionary is much more than to read the passages. I'll try to find how this website is like. :)

- English certificate and your real english level for example your oral English are both important in today's job hunting. Especially if you want to apply for a big company's position, they usually ask if you have an English grade certificate, if you havn't they will refuse you directly. This phenomenon may be not common in small private company. Because these smally companies do only ask you have good oral English. So when you wanna land a job in foreign trade field, you should treat these two kinds of companies respectively. For big company you'd better have a certificate but for small one you may not.

i really agree with Selina ,english is really eash to learn ,but the certification of the english test is no important, if you pass the englist test and no use the engilsh for a long time that you will lost it fast.so every one who want to improve english ability you must keep learn every day .
must be remind and believed english is easy!

- all the certificates above,i only get the CET4and CET 6 but i am a English major,i don't pass the TEM4 and TEM8 ,which make me difficult to find a job in foreign trade.but i still believe that certificate cannot stand for your capability,oral English is the most important things to English kingdom!

- Frankly speaking, I am also poor in wirting. May be we can communicate with eacher in English as more as possible, which may can promote both our writing capabilitielater. In addition, you should try to write some logs everyday.

mostly agree with what you said. it is really true.
certificate cannot stands for real capability.
Besides, i also want to know how did you practise your English writing, as i am very poor in it, althouth i can read original English noverl very easily, and the reading is no problem, however, my writing is very badly. i cannot find the problem, is it because the grammer/ or something else.
i hope you can give me advice. thanks in advance
